Generate pokemon teams
Nature is important in a Pokémon game. Natures determine which stats will grow in battle. Each nature benefits from just one stat. Most stat changes from a nature are a 10% increase in one stat and a 10% decrease in another. Because of this, picking a Pokémon nature is very important towards deciding a Pokémon’s strength or use in battle.
Depending on the role of the Pokémon in battle, nature changes are made. For example, an attacking Pokémon will need the nature that helps their Attack or Speed stats, and the same goes for Defending Pokémon, Defensive Pokémon will want the Defensive or Special Defensive boosting natures. Understanding these patterns in stat changes is very important for trainers to find better combinations in their teams.
Thanks to the Pokémon Nature Generator tool, you don’t have to worry about that. In no time you’ll have a newly generated Pokémon nature allowing you to build teams, set challenges and do anything you want to with it. For people who want to build teams at random, there is also a random Pokémon generator, where you can generate untapped Pokemon teams.
What Is Pokémon Nature?
The nature of a Pokémon is a specific characteristic that determines how that Pokémon’s stats change as it levels up. Every Pokémon nature is one of the stat modifier rules. One stat gets a boost of about 10% while another gets a decrease of 10%.
Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed are the five stats that are affected. If a Pokémon has an Adamant nature, that Pokémon has an increased Attack stat and decreased Special Attack stat. Bold nature Pokemon has an increased Defense stat and decreased Attack stat. A Timid nature Pokemon has a decreased Attack stat and increased Speed stat. Pokémon trainers can build stronger teams by selecting the best Pokémon nature.
All Pokémon Nature Types
In the Pokémon games, there are 25 different natures to choose from, and each one play a different role in a Pokémon’s stat growth. With a large variety and having individual roles, the natures allow for different strategies in each game, having offensive and defensive natures, understanding all of the various natures and which one will suit the player’s in-game battle strategies the best will grant more success in-game.
These natures include Adamant, Bashful, Bold, Brave, Calm, Careful, Docile, Gentle, Hardy, Hasty, Impish, Jolly, Lax, Lonely, Mild, Modest, Naive, Naughty, Quiet, Quirky, Rash, Relaxed, Sassy, Serious, and Timid.
For Pokémon like Calm and Careful, Calm will raise Special Defense and Careful will lower Special Attack. Pokémon that are Quiet will increase Special Attack at the cost of Speed. And for Pokémon that are Docile, Hardy, Bashful, Serious and Quirky, they will be neutral.
Flavor Preferences and Nature Effects
Aside from influencing a Pokémon’s stats, a Pokémon’s nature also affects what berry flavors a Pokémon prefers. Each nature is tied to a specific berry flavor preference, which is categorized into five different types: Spicy, Sour, Dry, Bitter, and Sweet.
Pokémon are more likely to enjoy the flavor that is associated with their increased positive stat, and are disinclined to enjoy the berry flavor that corresponds with their decreased negative stat. For instance, Pokémon that have a nature that increases Attack enjoy Spicy berries whereas Pokémon that have a nature that decreases Special Attack tend to dislike Bitter berries.
Comprehending the Pokémon flavor preference chart can streamline the berry blending and training process for players.
How to Change Pokémon Nature
There are multiple different ways to adjust a Pokémon’s nature to better fit your team. One way is to use Nature Mints. These include Adamant Mint or Jolly Mint, and they change the nature’s stat modifiers, but the Pokémon’s nature will remain the same.
Another possibility is breeding. This does require a bit more effort as the Pokémon will need to hold an Everstone which will determine the nature of the Pokémon that will hatch.
If a Pokémon has the Synchronize ability and is the lead Pokémon in the party, the wild Pokémon that they encounter will more likely have the same nature.
Best Nature for Pokémon (Competitive Tips)
Natures are species specific and rely heavily on their role. For example, physical attackers are generally better off with an Adamant or Jolly nature. On the other hand, special attackers use Modest and Timid natures. For the defensive natures, Bold, Calm, and Careful are most common.
An effective strategy to maximize success is to choose a nature that increases the most important stat and decreases a stat that is least beneficial to the species. This works in conjunction with an element of strategy and a bit of prediction, such as battling an opponent with a weak mental attack. Trainers can also explore battle matchups, like Psychic weaknesses.
